I love steam engines, they have character, power and grace. My Dad used to fire and drive them. He never quite saw them as I did, but then what worker ever sees his tools as things of beauty?
Fast jets are a particular passion of mine. I would have joined the RAF as a pilot if my eyes had not let me down. People ask me why I have never learnt to fly but when I could not fly the fastest or the best the appeal is not there.
For ships I prefer the cold hard lines of warships and when I get the time to indulge myself I have a go at some of the old ones. Although I love the Titanic and have produced a couple of paintings of her, one sold.
